On this #MemberMonday, Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes #GOACCMember Letro-Mcintosh-Spink Funeral Home.

There has been a Spink Funeral Home in Olean since 1931. After eight years at its original location — 520 W. State St. — Emmett E. Spink relocated the funeral home to 205 N. Third St. for better parking. The business continued there with the addition of his two sons, Joseph and Phillip, joining the staff. The funeral home relocated to its current location at 646 E. State St. in 1958.

In 1988, the business evolved to become Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home. A few years later, the funeral home added a location in Cuba. The business again expanded in 1996 with the addition of cremation services to make it the the only local funeral home to offer that option.

Today, Brad Spink continues the family business. The funeral home employs four full-time employees and five part-time employees. Brad Spink is also a county coroner. Brad Spink is very involved with the Mount View Cemetery Association and maintaining the county Veterans’ cemetery on the River Road.

In the coming months, the funeral home location in Olean will see some renovations and updates so the family business can continue to serve the Olean area for generations to come.
