Carol A. Dibble of 610 Irving Street, passed away on Saturday March 26, 2016 at the Olean General Hospital following and apparent heart attack.
Carol was born Jan. 31, 1947 in Jamestown and was the daughter of Norman and Anna Luella Eccles Robbins. She attended and graduated from Olean High School, St. Francis School of Nursing and JCC.
Carol worked for St. Francis Hospital and St. Bonaventure Friary Infirmary before going to work for Olean General Hospital, where she worked for more than 25 years, retiring Jan. 20, 2016. She was a member of the New York State Nursing Association.
Carol enjoyed sewing and making baby blankets, but her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her whole life and the apple of her eye.
Carol is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, whom she lived with Michael E. Hopkins; five children, Tina M. (Arthur) Dewe of Cuba, Anna J. Howard of Olean, Wendy L. (Todd) Boser of Allegany, Penny J. Dibble of Friendship, and Richard E. (Sara) Wood, Jr. of Dubois, PA; 13 Grandchildren, Joshua (Jocelyn), Logan, Kelsey, Sydney, Chelesa (Ben), Alix, Meegan, Heather, Lucas, Mason, Jordan, Brady, and Danica; five great grandchildren, Bransen, Kiari, Clarisse, Kylie, and Lil Bean; two sisters, Norma J. Robbins-Britt of Olean, and Donna M. (Donald) Clark of Cuba; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Carol was predeceased by one grandson Roger W. Pilon on Dec. 31, 1990; and two sisters, Nancy L. Robbins-Britt and Diane J. Bertron.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 E. State Street, Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10:00 am, The Rev. Douglas E. Travis, Pastor of the Harvest Field Ministries will officiate.
