Obituary of Ellsworth H. Case

Ellsworth H. "Al" Case, of 908 North Main Street, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Al was born on Oct. 20, 1928 in Vandalia and was the son of Harry and Lena Crouse Case. On April 3, 1951, in Bradford, PA he married his beloved wife of 63 years, Marian A. Colley, who predeceased him on Jan. 18, 2013. Al was a lifelong resident of Limestone. He was a Seneca Indian who was a very proud member of the Heron Clan.
Al graduated from Limestone Union Free High School. On Nov. 24, 1950 he was inducted into the US Army. Al proudly served his country in the 1745 Co. D Army Inf. (Hell on Wheels) in Germany. He achieved the rank of Sgt. Al was a half track tank operator and received the Army Occupational Medal. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 28, 1952.
Al worked for Dresser Manufacturing Division in Bradford for 43 years, where he worked as a Packer/Car Loader in the shipping department. He was a reliable, conscientious worker and a vital part of the shipping department. Al was an asset to Dresser and his fellow workers. He was employee of the month many times during his service with the company. Al served as a Game Warden for the Seneca Nation of Indians for several years. He was a life member of the American Legion in Limestone Post #1560 and the VFW in Salamanca Post #5296 and a member of the NRA. On June 9, 1971, Al became a member of the Mason's.
Al was a family man who enjoyed going out to lunch or dinner with family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, and fishing. Al was an avid dirt track racing fan. He would attend the Native American dance competitions and even teaching his daughter-in-law how to do several dances he knew.
Al is survived by a son, Marty (Deborah) Case of Allegany; a daughter, Karen (Alan) Milks of Salamanca; three grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, and Lisa; two step grandchildren, Alan and Scott Baker; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his closest and dearest friend, John "Mo" Kemp.
Along with his loving wife, Al was predeceased by his only sister, Ellodene Grey on June 13, 2016.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at which time a Funeral Service will be held. Deacon Mike Bray will officiate. Burial, with military honors accorded by the Salamanca American Legion, will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Salamanca.
