Charles Allen Beverly, Sr. of 111 Lilac Lane, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Charles was born Jan. 16, 1952 in Buffalo and was a son of Clinton and Helen Beverly. He was formerly married to Margaret A. Grossman, who predeceased him on February 28, 2003. Charles served in the US Army from Aug. 29, 1969 to March 14, 1972. He served in the Army Reserves until 1975. Charles worked for the New York State Correction Office at Collins for 25 years, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, jogging, and going to the gym. Charles is survived by one son, Charles A. Beverly, Jr. of Jamestown; one daughter, Lisa M. Beverly of Freedom; three grandchildren, Briana Matteson, Tanner Moquin and Marissa Moquin; his loving companion, with whom he lived, Mary George; several brothers & sisters; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no Public Visitation or Services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean.
