Connie J. Whittaker of 6399 Hydes Flats Rd. passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Connie was born Feb. 9, 1944 in Cuba and was a daughter of Milton and Dorothy Edwards Main. On May 12, 1962 in Cuba she married her husband of 42 years, Douglas S. Whittaker, who predeceased her on July 25, 2004.
Connie attended school in Hinsdale and Cuba. She worked at Friendship Dairies for 32 years from 1972 until her retirement in 2006. Connie was a member of the Cuba American Legion Auxiliary Post #0655. She enjoyed Bingo, reading, and NASCAR. Connie's true love and enjoyment came from spending time with her family especially her great grandchildren.
Connie is survived by one son, Mark D. (Karen) Whittaker of Olean; one stepson, John D. Whittaker of Silicone Valley, CA; one daughter, Julie (Keith) Perry of Friendship; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Ryellie, Raia, & Jasmine; and two brothers, Daniel P. (Nancy) Main of Cuba, and Timothy L. (Sharon) Main of Killbuck.
Along with her loving husband, Connie was predeceased by two sisters, Gloria Michael on Sep. 21, 2004, and Patricia Becker on Nov. 5, 1998.
Friends will be received Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, New York, where Funeral Services will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Jonathon D. Ward, Pastor of the North Park Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Black Creek Cemetery.
