Alburn M. Weekley, formerly of Emerald Hills Allegany, passed away Thursday June 14, 2012 at the Eden Heights in Olean. Mrs. Weekley was born Oct. 22, 1921 in Woodlawn, NY and she was a daughter of Henry & Ada Grissinger Neuhaus. On Apr. 3, 1947, in the First Baptist Church of Hamburg, she married her husband of 36 years Robert A. Weekley, who predeceased her May 7, 1983. Mrs. Weekley is a graduate of Cherry Creek (High School?). During World War II, she worked at Spencer Lens Optical Co. in Buffalo for couple of years. Mrs. Weekley was also a volunteer driver of Interfaith Care Givers & RSVP. She loved crafting, crocheting, other needle work, and cooking. Mrs. Weekley is survived by two sons, Robert C. (Carol) Weekley of Cheektowaga, and Ronald W. Weekley of Hamburg; one daughter, Sandra G. (Stephen) Wing of Olean; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Fern (Lee) Straight of Lawndale, NC. Along with her husband, Mrs. Weekley was predeceased by two grandchildren and three siblings. Friends will be received at the Allegany Baptist Church on Monday June 18, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be conducted. The Rev. Frank Hayman, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar. Memorials may be made to the Interfaith Caregivers, 34 North 4th Street, Allegany, New York 14706.
