Obituary of William C. Ronolder

William C. Ronolder, 100 formerly of 110 North 24th Street Olean passed away Monday Dec. 1, 2008 in the Pine Healthcare & Rehab in Machias, NY.
Mr. Ronolder was born Sept 6, 1908 in Olean he was the son of William C. & Mary Vosslar, Ronolder, Sr. On August 10, 1937, in Portville, he married Doris Butler who pre-deceased him on August 1, 1999.
Mr. Ronolder attended St Mary's Elementary School and Olean High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Ordnance Evacuation Company. Mr. Ronolder owned a garage with his brother, Howard, in Allegany from 1923 to 1928 He then worked at Weidmann and Bernruther Grocery Store from 1928 to 1931 and at Clago Manufacturing Company in Chicago from 1931 to 1933 then he returned to Olean and went to worked at Petra Brothers which later became Stroehmann as a route supervisor from 1933 to 1941. He joined the Olean Fire Department in 1941 were he worked until his retirement in 1972 at the rank of Captain of the Olean Fire Department.
Mr. Ronolder was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and spending winters in Florida and summers at Rushford Lake.
Surviving Mr. Ronolder are two sons, William C. ( June) Ronolder of Rushford, and Howard J. (Carol) Ronolder of Rushford; one daughter, Mary Ellen (Nicholas) Roemer of Elma, NY; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ronolder was pre-deceased by a brother Howard Ronolder and two sisters Pauline Nenno and Catherine Ronolder.
Visitation will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed. December 3, 2008 at 11:15 AM in St. Mary of the Angels Church . The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery Allegany, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Mary of the Angels Church 202 South Union St. Olean, New York 14760.
