Obituary of Marie Ernestine Siago

Mrs. Marie Ernestine (Pitts) Siago passed away on, Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012 at the Pines Health & Rehab following a lengthy illness.
Marie was born June 10, 1932 in Olean and was a daughter of Milton W. and Ernestine Havens Pitts, both who predeceased her. On June 26, 1948 in Olean she married her husband of 25 years, Halley E. Siago, who predeceased her Aug. 11, 1973.
Marie attended Olean grade and high school, where she was a very good in swimming, diving, and roller skating. She began working as a waitress at The Stratton Hotel at a very young age. Marie also worked at the Olean House, the Castle Restaurant for 11 years and St. Bonaventure University in the Housing Department for 16 years before retiring in 1999. She also worked at the Snack Bar at the Olean General Hospital for a number of years. Marie enjoyed the Seneca Casino.
Marie is survived by one son, Hal E. (Colleen) Siago of Olean; one daughter, Michelle L. (Kim) Hund of Olean; many grandchildren & great Grandchildren; and one brother, Milton R. (Chub) Pitts of Olean.
Along with her husband, Marie was predeceased by a son, Phillip L. (Val) Siago on Dec. 21, 2010; a daughter, Rene Y. (Roger) Wildfire on Sep. 17, 2011; an infant daughter, Carol M. Siago in 1948; an infant sister, Deloris Pitts; and a sister, Doris J. (Pitts) DiCarlantonio.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 East State Street, Olean, Sunday Dec. 9, 2012 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Steven W. Beattie, Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Olean, will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
