Obituary of Cheryl Sue McGiveron

Cheryl Sue McGiveron of 1951 West Fall Road, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at home following a lengthy illness. Cheryl Sue was born March 3, 1952 in Olean and was a daughter of Eugene William and Doris D. Barber McGiveron. Throughout the years Cheryl Sue attended a variety of Special Education programs through the Rehabilitation Center of Olean. She loved movies and music, especially the Beatles. Cheryl Sue was an outgoing person who brought a lot of love, joy, and warmth to everyone who knew her. She loved animals, bowling, and dining out. Cheryl's favorite time of year was Christmastime. She enjoyed being a part of the Gift Tree Program and dressing as "Annie" for Halloween and watching "Annie" and "The Sound of Music" and singing along to both. Cheryl Sue was a member of a cheerleading squad, the "Rockettes," where she received several awards. Cheryl also participated in the Special Olympics. Cheryl Sue is survived by her sister, Darlene E. McGiveron of Falls Church, VA; a number of Cousins; and many friends and the special caregivers, who loved her for so many years. Friends will be received Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, NY 14760 from 1pm to 3pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 109 S. Barry St., Olean, NY 14760 at 11am. The Rev. Barbara W. Baxter, Interim Clergy at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rehabilitation Center, 1439 Buffalo Street, Olean, New York 14760 and/or the All Soul's Memorial Fund at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 109 South Barry Street, Olean, New York 14760.
