Marilyn R. Abramowicz of 5397 Hammond Road, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness. Mrs. Abramowicz was born on June 19, 1930 in Dunkirk, NY and was the daughter of Frank and Lety Wells. On March 26, 1951, at St. Mary's Church in Dunkirk, she married Richard W. Abramowicz who survives. Mrs. Abramowicz and her husband moved to Cuba in 1960. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening, picture painting, fishing and boating. Mrs. Abramowicz loved her family very much and truly loved spending time with them. Mrs. Abramowicz was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Surviving Mrs. Abramowicz besides her husband are a son, Richard V. "Rick" Abramowicz of Angelica, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan J. (Jim Ehman) Ward of Allegany, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Max and Richelle Ward and Betsy Abramowicz; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Speta and Colin Keech; and a sister, Mildred (Jack) Ingelbritson of Weaverville, Ca. Mrs. Abramowicz was predeceased by a sister Betty VerHague. There will be public no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Cuba Memorial Hospital Fund to benefit the Ladies Auxiliary, 140 West Main St., Cuba, N.Y. 14727 Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba.
