Obituary of Dawn A. Grant

Dawn A. Grant of 313 N.5th Street, went to be with her Lord & savior on Monday, July 2, 2012 at home following an illness. Dawn was born February 18, 1943 in Cortland and was the daughter of Charles S. and Dora M. Squire Grant. Dawn was a graduate of Cortland High School class of 1961. She worked as a Dietary Manager for many years in the area nursing homes. She most recently worked at St. Joseph's Manor for about 10 years retiring in the early 2000's. Dawn was a member of the River's Edge United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. She enjoyed being faithful in sending the church bulletin to other people that could not get to church and sending cards to friends to keep in touch. Dawn is a former leader in the local Alzheimer's Support Group for the Olean Area that used to meet in the former St. Francis Hospital. Dawn is survived by one special friend of more than 40 years, Bonita A. Carpenter of Olean; several close friends including, John Bright of Olean; and several cousins. She was godmother to Cassandra M. Hurd. Friends will be received at the River's Edge United Methodist Church, 10 North Main Street, Portville, NY on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. Pastor Clara E. Wilder will officiate. Burial will be in Cortland, NY. Memorials may be made to the River's Edge United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
