Obituary of David C. Eastman

David C. Eastman of Hinsdale passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, following a lengthy illness. David was born June 20, 1953 in Olean and was a son of Wilfred C. and Phyllis M. Woodruff Eastman. He was a 1971 graduate of Hinsdale Central High School. David worked as a laborer for Mountainwood Builders of Portville for many years until he was injured and stopped working in 2006. He enjoyed horseback riding, scuba diving, hunting, fishing, and metal detecting. David is a former member of the Sons of the American Legion in Hinsdale. David is survived by his mother, Phyllis M. Eastman of Hinsdale; one stepson, Robert (Jeanette) Brookins of 29 Palms, CA; two brothers, Eugene E. Eastman of Hinsdale, and Kenneth D. (Joyce) Eastman of Delevan; one sister, Linda S. Schmidt of Hinsdale; and one niece and several nephews. David was predeceased by his father in 1987; a brother, Alton L. Eastman, and a nephew, Stephen G. Schmidt in 1980. Friends will be received on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 East State Street, Olean, New York from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Gerald C. Piper will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
