She was a member of the McKee Chapter #212 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cuba, and the Belfast Area Betterment Association. She attended both the Christ Episcopal Church in Cuba and the Belfast United Methodist Church. In addition to her family, Frances especially loved her dogs, Gecko and Jack, who were her constant companions during her recent illness. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by three children, Anthony (Linda) Bunk Jr. of Cuba, Douglas (Kimberly) Bunk and Valerie (Eric) Goldthwait, both of Belfast; seven grandchildren, Phillip (Brandy) Bunk, Denise (Mike) Bunk-Hatch, Chris Cricket Goldthwait, Michelle (Fred) Childs, Keith (Heather) Borden, Jesse Borden and Tony Ratzel; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mavis (Herman) Foster, Darlene (Edward) Stover and Donna (William) Rice; two brothers, Charles Hitchcock Sr. and Harvard (Marilyn) Hitchcock; a brother-in-law, Jack Peters; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; an infant daughter, Susan; two sisters, Shirley Peters and Rosemary Cooley; a sister-in-law, Virginia Hitchcock; a brother-in-law, Grant Cooley; and a nephew and godson, Charles Hitchcock Jr. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 14, 2012).
