Obituary of Walter R. Brinkwart

Mr. Walter R. Brinkwart formerly of 273 Munger Hollow Road died Sunday June 17, 2012 in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Mr. Brinkwart was born on October 13, 1922 in Hamburg, Germany and he was a son of Paul and Anna Everding Brinkwart. On May 17, 1953 in Union City, New Jersey, he married the former Katherine Richen, who predeceased him July 9, 2008.
Walter worked for the Contractor's Local Union 621 as a laborer for over 50 years retiring 1984. He was an avid reader and spent many hours at the Cuba & Olean libraries. He also enjoyed drawing, photography, he was very creative and had an artists touch. Walter also had a love of cars, he was a real enthusiast. He also was a life time member of the contractor's Local 621 and the American Chow Chow Club.
Walter is survived by three sons, George R. (Nancy) Brinkwart of Cuba, Paul E. Brinkwart of Cuba, and Peter (Maryam) Brinkwart of Cold Spring Harbor, NY; and two granddaughters, Aisha & Samira Brinkwart of Cold Spring Harbor.
Along with his loving wife, Walter was predeceased by one brother, Paul Brinkwart.
Friends will be received Saturday June 23, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, NY 14727 at which time funeral and committal services will take place. The Rev. Bob Beards will officiate. Burial will be on Sunday June 24, 2012 in the Abbotts Cemetery, Town of Ischua, NY
