Obituary of Stanley F. Blackmon

Stanley F. Blackmon of 1788A Portville-Obi Road passed away Sat. August 11, 2012 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Stanley was born June 27, 1935 in Hinsdale and he was a son of Kenneth and Hetti Nobles Blackmon. On November 27, 1954 at the Hinsdale United Methodist Church he married Kathryn L. Isaman, who survives. In 1953, Stanley graduated from Hinsdale High School. He began working at Clark Brothers in 1957 and he retired after 40 years later in 1997 as an inspector. Stanley attended the West Clarksville Baptist Church. He enjoyed barbecuing chicken and bowling but Stanley truly loved his wife and children and enjoyed being a being a good husband and father. Besides his loving wife of almost 59 years, Stanley is survived by two sons, Stanley F. "Skip" Blackmon of Portville, and Randy L. (Melissa) Blackmon of Olean; one daughter, Ann M. (Stephen) Ide of Bolivar; five grandchildren, Brooke (Gary) Fusco, Heather (Arijit Guba) Ehlers, SSgt. Ryan (Erika) Ehlers, Dustin Blackmon, and Taylor Blackmon; two great grandchildren, Evan Fusco and Sophia Ehlers; three siblings, Bruce (Lillian) Blackmon of Hinsdale, Lois Blackmon and Richard (Elaine) Blackmon both of North Tonawanda; and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Jesse and Donald Blackmon. Friends will be received Wed. Aug. 15, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral services will be held on Thur. Aug. 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the West Clarksville Baptist Church. The Rev. Less Chambers, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
