Glenn E. Smith of 1002 Brook Street passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home. Mr. Smith was born on January 11, 1943 in Keating Township, PA and was the son of the late Leigh and Elinore Weimer Smith. Mr. Smith a 1964 graduate of Devrie Institute of Technology in Chicago as an Electronic Technician. He repaired TV's, radios and then later computers before going to work for ALCAS Cutlery. Mr. Smith then worked for Portville Concrete, Worth W. Smith Hardware and for Bush Saw and Tool in North Olean until its closing on Dec. 31, 2005. Mr. Smith was a member of AA, where he was also a volunteer counselor. He enjoyed bee keeping, fishing and computers. Mr. Smith is survived by two sisters, Kama S. Cleveland of East Smethport, PA., and Leah "Diane" Kerchinski of St. Mary's, PA.; six nieces, Beth Ann Cleveland of Tucson, AZ, Carol M. Cleveland of Senatobia, MS, Amy Sue Helman of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Sara D. Nolek of Rockledge, FL, Major Victoria "Bonnie" Nemmers of Alexandria, VA, and Clara M. Hugh of Grand Forks, ND; and many cousins. Mr. Smith is predeceased by his parents, a brother, Ross A. Smith in 1999 and a nephew, Alan R. Hugh, in 1998. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Smethport United Methodist Church at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Robert J. George, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery formerly the Smith Hill Family Cemetery in Farmer's Valley, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
