Obituary of Julia V. Shoup

Julia V. Shoup, formerly of Emerald Hills in Allegany, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at the Pines Health & Rehabilitation Center in Olean. Mrs. Shoup was born on Feb. 16, 1924 in Manchester, NH and was the daughter of Louis and Agnes Bryzsch Walega. She married Chester F. Shoup who pre-deceased her on March 4, 1999. Mrs. Shoup was a long time member of St. Bonaventure Church of Allegany. She enjoyed gardening and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who loved her, especially her special nieces, who did so much for her. Mrs. Shoup is survived by a daughter, Gloria (Charles) Lute of Allegany; a close sister, Josephine Woodard who is also in the Pines Health & Rehab Center and who will greatly miss her sister's company; ten grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Shoup is predeceased by her husband Chester F. Shoup; a son, Roger Frederick; a grandson, Kevin Frederick; a sister, Katherine Masich; three brothers, John Walega, Walter Walega, and Edward Walega; and a special nephew, Matthew Walega. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 E. State Street. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 beginning with a prayer services in the funeral home at 10:30 AM followed by a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bonaventure Church. The Rev. Richard S. Husted, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery Allegany, NY.
