Obituary of Patricia J. Leone

Patricia J. Leone formerly of 123 East Baldwin Ave and the Pines Health and Rehab Center in Olean passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Olean General Hospital. Mrs. Leone was born on July 3, 1916 in West Valley, NY and was a daughter of James and Marian Ball Brennan. On April 11, 1942 in St. John's Church in West Valley she married Paschal J. Leone who pre-deceased her on Dec. 20, 1968. Mrs. Leone was a graduate of West Valley High School. She was also a 1940 graduate of the Bradford Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Leone worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at both the Olean General Hospital and the Olean Medical Group, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Leone was a member of St. John's Church. She enjoyed cooking & baking. She especially enjoyed traveling and having spent many winters in either Florida or Virginia Beach up until 2006. Surviving Mrs. Leone are two sons, James L. (Judy) Leone of Olean, and Patrick J. (Sumalee) Leone of Bangkok, Thailand; a daughter, Sharon M. (Peter) Cummings of Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. Mrs. Leone was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald Brennan and Francis "Fritz" Brennan; and a sister, Beatrice Loveless. Friends will be received on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 15, 2010 beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward J. Sheedy, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Olean General Hospital Foundation 515 Main Street, Olean, NY, 14760 to be used for the ICU department.
