Michael A. Farmer of 121 South 10th Street, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 shortly after arrival at the Community South Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Mike was born on November 10, 1986 in Rota, Spain and was the son of James D. and Loli Vespa Farmer, who survive him. Mike attended Olean High School until 2004 then he moved to IN, where his mother lived, and graduated from Whiteland High School in 2005. He returned to Olean at the end of 2006 and began attended JCC in Olean. Mike worked Part-time for Vic Vena Pharmacy and Allen's Liquor, Randy's up the River and was also a local DJ. He began working at Del Tile in December of 2008 till October of 2009 when he returned IN. Mike was a real people person, and recently had been hired by Radiation Services as a salesman in Evansville Indiana, because of being a people person. He was looking forward to starting job a new career. Mike was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, Sons of the Olean American Legion and was a volunteer for the Olean Dempsey Club. He enjoyed playing golf and had even gotten a hole in one. He loved to sing karaoke and was deemed "King of Karaoke"; he also loved movies, playing video games and was an avid Colts fan. Surviving Mike are his father and step mother, James D. (Tina) Farmer of Olean; his mother and step father, Loli D. (Gary) Mears of Greenwood, IN.; four sisters, Lindsey E. (Andrew) Mapes of Olean, Lisa M. Knipple of Olean, Jessica R. Farmer of Olean; and Kayla N. Mears of Greenwood, IN; paternal grandmother, Olene Farmer of Lufkin,TX; step maternal grandmother, Edna Mecham of Olean; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Farmer was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Daniel Anthony Vespa and Dolores Guerrero; paternal grandfather, Larry D. Farmer; and step maternal grandparents, George and Loretta Ferry. Friends will be received on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 from 2-4 and on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
