Helen E. Clayson of Underwood Manor formerly of 756 Carpenter Hill Road passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the Olean General Hospital. Mrs. Clayson was born on September 22, 1931 and was the daughter of Ike and Edith Spaulding Newman. On May 27, 1950 in Lyndon, NY, she married her husband of 53 years Eugene W. Clayson, who predeceased her on Jan. 24, 2003. Mrs. Clayson was an assembly operator at Acme Electric in Cuba, NY, for 11 years retiring in 1978. She enjoyed crafts and was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church and Abbotts Community Sunshine Club. Mrs. Clayson is survived by a son, Matthew (Kathy) Clayson of Cuba; four daughters, Lois (Gary) Boffum of Springville, NY, Aileen (John) Eckman, Cynthia Crawford, and Marsha (Ted) Ingalls all of Cuba; many grand and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clayson is predeceased by a brother, James Milne. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Robert Beard, Pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be next to her husband in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, NY. Memorials may be made to the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, Main Street, Hinsdale, NY 14743.
