Jean P. Burdick formerly of 9317 Beebe Hill Road and 2932 Five Mile Road, Allegany, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 in The Pines Health and Rehab Center in Machias. Mrs. Burdick was born on Jan. 23, 1929 in Hornell and was a daughter of Oscar and Rosalie Rightmire Carey. On Feb. 21, 1948 in Hornell she married Dale C. Burdick who pre-deceased her in June of 1987. Mrs. Burdick was a former member of the Eastern Starr in Friendship and bowled for many years on a league in Belmont. Surviving Mrs. Burdick are a daughter, Susan J. (Douglas) Watt of Columbus, In; a son, James D. (Glenda) Burdick of Cuba; grandchildren, Cheryl (Keith) Dunchak of Indianapolis, In., Eric M. Watt of Christiansburg, VA., Kaitlyn (Brad) Halsaver of Cuba, and Matthew (Maggie) Burdick of Greenville, SC.; a great granddaughter, Rylie D. Dunchak; a great grandson, Evan Halsaver; and a sister, Joan-Lin Carey. Mrs. Burdick was pre-deceased by a sister Eleanor Burris and an infant brother. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held the Rev. Larry A. Poelma, Pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
