Doris A. "Dorie" Wallace, 92, formerly of Hamilton Street & Eden Heights, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at the Absolut of Salamanca, following a lengthy illness. Dorie was born Sep. 25, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA and was a daughter of Howard and Ethel Bartholomew Cottrell. She was formerly married to Warren Knight, Sr. On Nov. 16, 1956, she married David F. Black of Olean, who predeceased her Nov. 27, 1962. She then married William H. Wallace of Boston, MA, who also predeceased her. For many years, Dorie worked as a volunteer at the Olean General Hospital. Dorie is survived by two granddaughters, Ms. Philae Maxwell Knight of New York City, and Ms. Emily Evans Knight of Connecticut; one grandson, Mr. James W. Knight-Dominick of Denver, CO; and one great grandson, Peter Robert Dominick of Denver, CO. Along with her loving husbands, Dorie was predeceased by one son, Mr. Warren Arthur "Dink" Knight, Jr. of Metairie, LA. Dorie will be laid to rest on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at the Mt. View Cemetery.
