Obituary of James Carl Prescott

James Carl "Jay" Prescott, Jr. of 1595 Olean-Portville Rd, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Jay was born Jan. 7, 1963 in Coudersport, PA and was a son of James Carl and Constance Mae Carroll Prescott, Sr. On June 14, 1986 he married Lisa Ann Austin, who survives. Jay graduated from Portville Central School in 1982. He served in the Navy from April 26, 1982 to December 10, 1984. Jay enjoyed football and was a Buffalo Bills fan. He also enjoyed being outside. Along with his wife, Jay is survived by five sons, James Carl Prescott, III of Hornell, Adam Matthew Prescott, Samuel Thomas (Megan Perkins) Prescott, Timothy Francis (Alyssa) Prescott, and Jonathan David Prescott all of Wellsville; three grandchildren, Isabella, Isaac, & Christopher Prescott; three brothers, William (Anita) Prescott of Duke Center, PA, Robert Prescott of Portville, and Jeffery (Mary) Prescott of Portville; one sister, Joan Prescott of Eldred, PA; and many nieces & nephews. Jay was predeceased by his father, James Carl Prescott, Sr. on Dec. 28, 1979; his mother, Constance Mae Prescott on Dec. 19, 2011; two brothers, Francis Guy Prescott on May 22, 1978, and Michael James Prescott in Sep. 2008; and an infant sister, LouAnn Mae Prescott on Feb. 9, 1961. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Duke Center United Methodist Church, 26 Oil Valley Rd., Duke Center, PA at 11:00 AM.
