Obituary of Bina B. Isaman

Mrs. Bina B. Isaman, 97, of 307 Gilmore Ave., passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at her home. Bina was born Sept. 15, 1915 in Hinsdale and was a daughter of Cortland "Frances" and Amy Thayer. On Jan. 7, 1931 in Maplehurst she married her loving husband of 62 years William G. Isaman who pre-deceased her on March 2, 1993. Bina attended a One Room School House. She worked at the Ammunition Plant in Eldred during WWII. She also worked as a supervisor at HI-Q and then at Olean Tilt for over 30 years retiring in 1980. Bina was the oldest member of Mt. Zion Christian Assembly. She enjoyed writing poetry (some where published), playing Nintendo, baking, knitting and listening & playing music. Surviving Bina are four sons, William Isaman of Eldred, Ronald Isaman of Salamanca, Keith Isaman of Texas, and Paul "Ed" Isaman of Portville; three daughters, Etta Firkle of Bolivar, Donna Mallery of Bradford, and Suzanne Isaman of Olean; 146 (plus) grand, great grand, great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild; a sister, Dora Lindermuth of Orchard Park, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Bina was pre-deceased by two daughters, Kathryn Blackmon and June Maine; and four siblings. Friends will be received on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Mt. Zion Christian Assembly. Memorial may be made to Mt. Zion Christian Assembly, 361 Front Street, Olean, New York 14760.
