Lloyd E. DeYoe of 133 Orchard Place, Apt. 109, Lackawanna, formerly of 112 South 5th Street, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 in the Buffalo General Hospital, following an illness. Lloyd was born June 6, 1921 in West Clarksville and was a son of George and Bertha Perkins DeYoe. On Dec. 29, 1946 in Cuba, he married his loving wife of almost 67 years, Marie W. Williams, who survives. Lloyd graduated from Olean High School in 1940. He was proud to have served in the US Army during WWII from July 17, 1942 to Oct. 27, 1945. During which time he was instrument engineer on a fighter plane, with the 384th Fighter Wing squad. Before WW II and he returned after WWII to worked at Clark Brothers as a tool & Die maker. Lloyd retired from Dresser Rand after over 40 years in 1983. He also taught at BOCES in the Machine Shop Instructor. Lloyd was a life long member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Olean Senior Center. He volunteered at the Interfaith Care Givers as a driver. Lloyd enjoyed woodcarving especially small animals and figurines, but his true enjoyment came from the companionship of his friends and coworkers and especially his family who he truly loved. Along with his loving wife, Lloyd is survived by one son, David L. DeYoe of Lockport; two daughters, Denise M. (Joseph) Needham of Buffalo, Diane L. DeYoe of Seneca Falls, and one grandson, Curtis DeYoe his "Little Buddy". Lloyd was predeceased by his sister, Orpha J. Keller. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Brad Chesebro, Pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church and The Rev. Gerald C. Piper, Pastor of the Knapp Creek United Methodist Church, will co-officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery Veterans Field of Honor. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 131 North 9th Street, Olean, New York 14760 or to the Interfaith Care Givers, 34 North 4th Street, Allegany, New York 14706.
