John L. Hill of 2514 Power Horn Street, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 at home following a battle with cancer. Mr. Hill was born on Feb. 13, 1951 in Olean and was a son of George "Bunnie" and Regina "Virginia" Schindler Hill. He married his wife Lisa Morris in 1978 in Vas Vegas, NV, who survives. Mr. Hill graduated form Franklinville Ten Brook Academy in the class of 1970. He serviced in the U.S. Marine Co. for 14 years from 1970 to 1984. Mr. Hill was a security officer for jails and prisons and was currently working at Spoken Jail House in Washington. Mr. Hill enjoyed hunting and oil painting. Surviving Mr. Hill are two daughters, LaCygne (Travis) Cosby of Post Falls and Cassandra Hill of Post Falls; three sisters, Martha A. Hill of Olean, Karen M. Babcock of Olean, and Darlene M. Fussiara of Olean; two stepsisters, Victoria (Almond) Raymond of Syracuse, and Caroline Martin of Naples Fl.; two stepbrothers, William (Ute) Atwater of Franklinville and Arnold Atwater of Bend, Oregon; and three grandchildren. Mr. Hill was pre-deceased by his father, George Hill, and stepfather, Ernest G. Atwater. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. On Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate.
