Obituary of Dortha I. Waehner

Dortha I. Waehner, formerly of 601 West State Street and the Pines Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, in Monroe County Community Hospital, Rochester. Mrs. Waehner was born on Nov. 15, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Pa. and was a daughter of Davis & Addah Wells McFeaters. She married her husband Herman L. Waehner on Dec. 25, 1935, in Johnstown, Pa. He pre-deceased her on Dec. 5, 1993. Mrs. Waehner attended school in Latrobe, Pa. Prior to her marriage she was a hostess at Bards Restaurant in Johnstown, Pa. Mrs. Waehner and her husband owned and operated Harrison Valley Soft Drink Plant from 1945 to 1956 and then they owned Waehner Real Estate in Olean for 33 years from 1960 to 1993. She was most known for working at WT Grants Co. in the baby department until the store closed. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving Mrs. Waehner are two sons, Robert L. (A. Jean) Waehner of Rutledge, Tenn., and Kenneth C. (Catherine) Waehner of Olean; a daughter, Nancy J. (Stanley) Hendrickson Polmateer of Pittsford, NY; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca E. Hendrickson, Melinda (Matthew) Baldwin, Connie Passow, Philip (C hrissy) Waehner, Lora (Shawn) Malloy, Keith (Sara) Waehner and Scott Waehner; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt.
