Linda L. Underwood, formerly of #350 Front St. Aspen Tower, Olean, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the home of her daughter Amy Reid at #213 Davis Ave. fallowing a long illness. Mrs. Underwood was born in Olean on July 6, 1948 and was the daughter of Richard and Thelma Nelson Underwood. She was formally married to Alan Dehnkamp. Mrs. Underwood graduated from Hinsdale Central School and then Rochester Beauty Institute. She worked in her self owned beauty shop, Linda's Beauty Shop. Mrs. Underwood Also worked for JCPenny's and then Olean General Hospital. Mrs. Underwood was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, The Busyettes and the Fay Hallow Sun Shine Club. Mrs. Underwood truly loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Underwood are two daughters, Amy Reid of Olean, and Heidi (Steve) Downey of Langhorne, P.A.; one son, Wade (Kimberly) Dehnkamp of Warrington, P.A.; and three grandchildren, Roselelynn Reid of Olean, and Kaitlyn & Ayden Dehnkamp of Warrington, P.A. Mrs. Underwood was pre-deceased by her parents; one sister, Roselynn Underwood, and one son in-law, Bernie Reid. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, Pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hinsdale United Methodist Church or Homecare & Hospice Joyful Rescues.
