Phoebe A. Truby formerly of Haskell Road, Cuba, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 in the Absolut at Aurora Park, East Aurora, NY.
Mrs. Truby was born on Sept. 3, 1909 in Johnsonburg, Pa. and was a daughter of H. Norman and Susan Minerva Kramer Beaver. On July 3, 1933 she married Joseph James Truby, who pre-deceased her on Nov. 2, 1981.
Mrs. Truby worked for almost 50 years at Olean Tile. First in plant and then worked in the office prior to her retirement. She Later worked at Arzberger's Bakery in Cuba for a few years and then in the lunch room at ACME for a few years. Mrs. Truby was a member of Our Lady of Angels Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making afghans and quilts. She also enjoyed painting pictures.
Surviving Mrs. Truby are a son, Thomas Joseph (Joy) Truby of Hyattsville, MD.; two daughters, Margaret E. (William) Brown of East Aurora, and Mary Ann Laslo of Mercersburg, Pa.; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Truby was pre-deceased by several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Angels Church. The Rev. Jerome M. Dissek, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Cuba, NY.
