Obituary of Elizabeth A. Smith

Elizabeth Anne Smith formerly of Godfrey Hollow Road Olean passed away in the Jones Memorial Hospital Wellsville NY Saturday April 25, 2009. Mrs. Smith was born on June 30, 1926 in Warren, PA and was the daughter of Marshall W. and Anna Christina Osgood Myers Sr. On June 14, 1951 in Youngsville, PA she married James E. Smith who predeceased her on January 22, 1983. Mrs. Smith will be remembered as an avid hat collector, Bible reader, and one who loved to sing. She was also known for her Thursday trips to town. Mrs. Smith was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She taught Sunday School and served as Chairman of Board of Education. Mrs. Smith is survived by a son in law Terry B. Blackmon of Olean; and two grandchildren, Robert L. Blackmon of Olean, and Rachael O. Blackmon of Olean. She is predeceased by her husband, daughter Cecelia A. Blackmon and one brother Marshall W. Myers, Jr. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 30, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4th & Laurens St., Olean, New York. The Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, Pastor, will officiate.
