Shirley A. Gross of 3487 Haskell Road, formerly of 2 Willow St., passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008 at home following a short illness.
Born on Feb. 20, 1934 in Salamanca she was a daughter of Max and Lenore Beldin Sander.
Mrs. Gross was a 1951 graduate of Olean High School. She began working at Olean Advanced Products in 1951 and retired in 45 years latter in 2004. She also worked on and off at her family meat market "Sanders Meat Market" for a number of years.
Mrs. Gross enjoyed working around her home and doing yard work. She loved her dogs & cats and but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her great grandson Jacob.
Surviving Mrs. Gross are three brothers, Max L. (Janice) Sander of Allegany, Paul E. (Carole) Sander of Allegany, and James R. Sander of Cuba; Two granddaughters, Tracy L. Langworthy of Cuba and Jill M. (Nason) Long of West Clarksville; a great grandson, Jacob T. Long; several nieces and nephews; and life long friend and care giver Louella A. Bailey.
There will be no public visitation. Funeral and Committal services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers, Pastor of the West Clarksville Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany.
