Mrs. Delores A. Hughes of 1970 Kansas Street, formerly of Wellsville, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Olean General Hospital. Mrs. Hughes was born on November 13, 1937 in Wellsville, NY. She was raised by her mother Doris and her husband John B. Mondry. Mrs. Hughes graduated from Wellsville High School in the mid 1950's. She worked at a number of places, including as a beautician and a nurse's aide. Mrs. Hughes had love and a talent for art, and was very creative. Mrs. Hughes also enjoyed crafts, cooking, planting and camping. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her mother, Doris F. Mondry of Olean; three sons, Ronald W. (Cynthia) Hughes of Olean, Daniel E. Hughes of Bradford, and Jack L. Carpenter of Olean; a daughter, Rosemarie (Ken) Kellner of Olean; 11 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald (Phyllis) Cowles of Ceres, NY. Mrs. Hughes is predeceased by a daughter, Darla K. Dickerson in 1968, and a sister, Mary Lou Finch. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at which time Funeral services will be held. The Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate.
