Melvin D. Frederick Jr. of 317 West Green Street, passed away Sunday Nov. 8, 2009 at shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Mr. Frederick was born Jan. 10, 1969 in Bradford and was a son of Melvin D. and Patricia Kibby Frederick. He was formerly married to Suzette McKelvey. Melvin enjoyed socializing, fishing & camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and teaching them how to drive. Surviving Mr. Frederick are a son, Melvin D. Frederick III of Olean; a daughter, Shawn-Day R. Frederick of Black Creek; a step daughter, Ashley M. Irvin of Black Creek; a brother, Timothy D. Frederick of Olean; and a sister, Lisa A. Frederick of Olean. Friends will be received on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Douglas E. Travis, Pastor of the Harvest Field Out Reach Center of Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be sent to his son Melvin D. Frederick III, 317 West Green Street, Olean, NY 14760 to help defray cost.
