Obituary of Sharon L. Connelly

Sharon L. Connelly of 211 South Barry Street passed away Monday Oct. 26, 2009 at the Olean General Hospital. Mrs. Connelly was born on January 13, 1953, in Olean and was the daughter of John C. and June E. Foster Long Sr. She was formerly married to John J. Connelly. Mrs. Connelly is a graduate of Portville Central School. She went on to get her Bachelors degree in Social Science through Empire State. Mrs. Connelly worked in a number of positions in the Olean Area before going to work at the Gide post, where she has been for 15 years as a pier advocate. Mrs. Connelly enjoyed being around people and especially her family. She was and a member of The Friendship Club. Mrs. Connelly was a New York Yankee fan and she also enjoyed playing bingo and scratch off tickets. Surviving Mrs. Connelly besides her father, John C. Long Sr., of Allegany are a daughter, Jennifer L. (Frank) DeMart of Olean; three grandsons, Tyler A. DeMart, Calvin P. DeMart and Michael A. Emerick; a brother, John C. (Karol) Long Jr. of Olean; and a sister, Sally Ann Sennett of Mt. Morris. Mrs. Connelly was predeceased by a sister, Marie L. Smith. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean ,on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 12 - 2 PM at which time Funeral and Committal Service will be held. The Rev. Gary P. Larson will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery, Olean, NY. In Lieu of Memorials or Flower arrangement, Sharon request is for everyone to each bring her one red rose.
