Obituary of Paul A. Connelly

Paul A. Connelly of 219 West Oak Street, Olean died Saturday, July 4, 2009 in the Buffalo General Hospital. Mr. Connelly was born on Feb. 28, 1953 in Olean and was a son of Francis P. and Ann Cullather Connelly. On Nov. 3, 1984 he married his wife Darlene L. Testrake who survives. Mr. Connelly was a 1972 graduate of Olean High School. He worked for Dexter/Hysol for about five years. He began working for the Olean Fire Department as a Fire Fighter in Feb. of 1978 and has been there for 31 years. He will be remembered as a good husband and father and a proud fireman. He was a life long Member St. John's Church, a member of the Elks, the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1796, and a former member of the Olean Pulaski Club and a former charter member of the AOH. Surviving Mr. Connelly besides his wife of almost 25 years are two sons, Mark A. Connelly of Olean, and Daniel P. Connelly of Olean; two brothers, Francis M. (Linda) Connelly of Olean, and James N. (Dianna) Connelly of Allegany; four sisters, Elizabeth A. Connelly of Olean, Anne M. (Thomas) Angora of Rochester, Maureen A. (Edwin) Negron of Olean, and Kathleen T. Connelly of Olean; many many nieces & nephews; and great nieces & nephews. Mr. Connelly was pre-deceased by two brothers, Patrick J. Connelly on Oct. 2, 2004 and Joseph J. Connelly on Dec. 24, 1992. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. followed be a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John's Church. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will Celebrate in the absence of the Rev. Ed. Sheedy, Pastor. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Archbishop Walsh Foundation #208 North 24th Street, Olean, NY 14760.
