Obituary of Elizabeth D. Bastow

Mrs. Elizabeth D. Bastow of 2650 Wildcat Road passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009. Mrs. Bastow was born on October 10, 1941 in Buffalo, NY and was the daughter of Robert C. and Irene C. Morris Millard. On Oct. 17, 1959 in Portland, NY, she married her husband of 26 years, Thomas H. Bastow, who predeceased her on May 23, 2005. Mrs. Bastow was a 1958 graduate of Hinsdale High School. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Allegany Nursing Home for 25 years before retiring in the mid 1980's. Mrs. Bastow enjoyed NASCAR, her pet cats, but most of all, spending time with her family. Surviving Mrs. Bastow are her mother, Irene C. Morris Millard of Hinsdale; two sons, Thomas W. Bastow of Allegany, and Francis A. (Sherry L.) Bastow of Olean; two grandsons, Thomas W. Bastow II and Robert C. Bastow both of Olean; three step grandchildren, James (Danielle) Skinner of New Point, VA, Frederick Skinner of Olean; and Sonyea J.Skinner of Olean; and a great grandson, Marcus Skinner of New Point, VA. In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Bastow is predeceased by a son, Robert Thomas Bastow, and three infant daughters, Teresea, Lycinda, and Deanna Bastow. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, # 646 E. State Street, Olean on Monday, May 11, 2009 from 10 - 12:00 noon at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Jay A. Gilbert, Pastor of the Rock of Revelation Church of Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Town of Olean Fire Department, 1297 Old Rock City Road, Olean, New York.
