Kenneth H. Wallace of 1229 Plum Street, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 in the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster, following an illness.
Kenneth was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Franklinville and was a son of Herbert F. and Lura Jones Wallace. On October 4, 1952 at the Baptist Church in Franklinville he married his wife of 63 years, June Kathleen Cross, who predeceased him on July 29, 2016.
Kenneth graduated from Ten Brock Academy in Franklinville in 1947. He served in the US Army from May 19, 1955 to May 17, 1957. Kenneth worked at Hysol while receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from the University of Buffalo. He began working at BOCES in Olean as an Instructor in the mid 1960's and retired 25 years later in 1991. Kenneth was a 50 year Life Member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun club and a member of the Lakewood American Legion Post #1286.
Kenneth enjoyed spending the summers at his Cottage on Chatauqua Lake. He enjoyed helping other people. Kenneth was always doing something for someone else. There was nothing he couldn't fix.
Kenneth is survived by two children, Cathy L. (Michael) Sherman of Bradford, PA, and Alan K. (Susan) Wallace of Ashville; five grandchildren, Eric A. (Gina) Chaffee of Olean, Kyle K. Chaffee of Olean, Bradley R. (Elizabeth Woodhead) Chaffee of Olean, Ryan A. (Stephanie) Wallace of Matthews, NC, and Brent R. (Julie) Wallace of Charlotte, NC; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Elle, Seger, & Royce; and one sister, Pauline (Roy) Lucas of Wellsville.
A Funeral Service will be held at a date and time to be announced. Burial will be in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville.
