Grant G. Cooley of 1445 Olean-Portville Road passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness. Mr. Cooley was born on May 19, 1943 in Cuba, N.Y. and was the son of Harold and Doris Greene Cooley. On Dec. 22, 1961 he married his wife of almost 47 years, Mrs. Rosemary Hitchcock, who survives. Mr. Cooley a member of the U.S. Navy from June 14, 1960 to June 13, 1966. He owned and operated Cooley Builders for more than ten years. For the past 15 years, Mr. Cooley was a tax preparer and an Accountant. Mr. Cooley was a life time member of the Bolivar Fire Department. He enjoyed carpentry and going to the casino. Mr. Cooley was greatly loved by his family, friends and many loyal customers. Surviving Mr. Cooley besides his wife are a son, Jeffery G. Cooley of Richmond VA.; two daughters, Christine A. (Ken) Quinn of Wellsville, and Kathleen M. (Mike) Lynch of Rotterdam, NY; two granddaughters; six great grandsons; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Nancy (Bob) Dana of Wellsville, and Tina Baldwin of Richburg; and several nieces & nephews. Mr. Cooley was pre-deceased by a grandson, Cameron Lynch. Friends will be received on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean where funeral servicers will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. William McNeil, Pastor of the Olean Seven Day Adventist Church will officiate. Memorials may be the charity of the donor's choice.
