Jack Peck of 3839 Birch Run Road, passed away on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the Absolut of Salamanca, following a brief illness.
Jack was born on May 25, 1946 in Olean and was a son of Horace G. and Emogene Tisdale Peck. On July 24, 1965 at the Rushford Methodist Church, he married his wife of 52 years, Melva D. Speta, who survives.
Jack began working at Potter's Lumber Company in Allegany from 1968 to 2013, retiring after 45 years. He also worked for his brother Richard Peck on, off & weekends for 36 years. Jack was a member of the Limestone Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved his wife & family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his loving wife, Jack is survived by; 4 children; Jack F. Peck of Allegany, James H. (Lynne) Peck of Franklinville, Kellie E. Crawford of Allegany, and Edward P. (Teresa) Peck of Manassas, VA, 10 grandchildren; Michael Crawford, Crystal Lett, Samantha Homer, Jessica Peck, Meghan Peck, Mason Peck, Jamie Crawford, Nickolas Crawford, Alicia & Kylie Holdcraft, 7 great grandchildren; Richard, Charlie, Lanx, Matthew, Gabby, Tempy, and Michael, 8 siblings; William (Sue) Peck of Franklinville, Horace "Bucky" Peck, Richard (Linda Eaton) Peck, Forest "Jim" (Judy) Peck, Michael (Mary) Peck, Gloria (Carl) Foster, and Carol (Richard) Chew all of Allegany, and Michelle (Bill) Steinbroner of Little Valley; a special sister Donna Sherwin of Allegany, 2 special nephews; Dennis and Danny Sherwin as well as many other nieces and nephews, and an aunt; Donna Cook of Bolivar.
Jack was predeceased by; 3 grandchildren, James H. Peck, Jessie James Peck and Allen F. Peck, and 4 sisters; Juanita "Fern" Fahy, Judith Jordan, Barbara Beil, and Dawn Nudd.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean tonight from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. Mr. Richard Chew, Jack's Brother-in-law, will officiate.
