Harriet L. Long, of 312 Prosser Road, passed away on Saturday Dec. 9, 2017, in the Cuba Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Harriet was born on July 10, 1926 in Olean and was a daughter of Edward and Gertrude Robbins Seelbinder. On Nov. 2, 1946, she married her husband of 48 years, Robert H. Long, Sr., who predeceased her on May 6, 1994. Harriet worked at the Weston Shopper City from the day that it opened until the day that it closed in the 1980's. She worked in the women's department, which she was head of when they closed. She was also a private home caregiver for several local families in the area for over 10 years. Harriet's family was truly the most important thing in her life. She truly loved all of them and enjoyed spending time them & caring for them, including cooking & baking for them and their family meals. Harriet is survived by; a son, Robert H. (Patricia) Long, Jr. of Mars, PA; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Along with her loving husband, Harriet was predeceased by; a daughter, Linda K. Spehar on Oct. 14, 2001, a grandson, Brett M. Spehar on March 31, 2015; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Marilyn K. Hale, Pastor of the Portville First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville. Online condolences may be made by clicking the button above.
