Kathryn A. Hendrix, of 161 South 25th St., passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Eden Heights, following a brief illness.
Kathy was born on July 6, 1934 in Olean and was the daughter of George TW and Kathryn A. Greene Hendrix. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy and Olean High School in 1951. Kathy graduated from Carnegie College in Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelor Degree in Executive Secretarial in 1955.
Kathy worked for NASA for 7 years in Cleveland, OH and then became Convention and Meeting Planner for Drop Forge Association of America in Cleveland, OH for over 30 years. As a convention planner she had the opportunity to meet many celebrities from the entertainment and political world, who addressed the various meetings she arranged. Kathy even had the opportunity to hear and meet the current President, Donald Trump for one of her conventions. She retired in the mid 1990's and moved to Stuart, FL until 2013, when she returned to Olean to live at Eden Heights. Kathy was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.
Kathy enjoyed swimming for exercise. She also travelled extensively with many trips to her favorite resort area in Hawaii.
Kathy is survived by a brother, George TW Hendrix, Jr. of Olean; a sister, Patricia A. Vogl of Olean; a niece, Lynne (Norman) Langseth of Bellevue, WA; three nephews, Michael (Kelly) Hendrix of Olean, Mark (Kathy) Hendrix of Olean and George T.W. "Toby" (Diane) Hendrix, IV of Lakewood.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State Street, Olean on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main St., Allegany on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM. The Rev. James Vacco, Pastor of the St. Bonaventure Church, will celebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany.
