Obituary of Douglas Barry Wilson

Hinsdale- Douglas B. Wilson Douglas B. Wilson of 1899 Meadowview Dr. passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Doug was born on December 3, 1943, in Essex County NJ, and was the son of Stewart and Dorothy Easter Wilson. Doug joined the United States Marine Corps Aug. 29, 1962, where he was a flamethrower until Dec. 20, 1965. Doug attended Bloomfield College in NJ and had various jobs throughout his life. He resided in NJ most of his life - moving to NH for several years, then back to NJ before moving to Hinsdale in 2001, where he lived the remainder of his life. Doug was known as an awesome friend to all the knew him and he was the “World’s Best Neighbor”. Doug was a councilman for the Town of Hinsdale, a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, a campaign leader for local republicans, and a member of the Tea Party. He most recently worked as a security guard for St. Bonaventure University for special events. Doug is survived by his daughter, Kim (Wilson) Hernandez of Milford, NJ and her son, Hunter McKay of Lisbon Falls, ME. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
