Obituary of R. Michael Thompson

Allegany- R. Michael Thompson “No Caption” Michael Thompson of 2565 Ten Mile Road, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Olean General Hospital following a short illness. Mike was born on July 28, 1952 in Olean and was the son of Richard Leon and Deloris Ann Strong Thompson. On August 25, 1973 at the Oak Orchard Church in Millsboro, DE he married Sharon A. Salios who survives. Mike was a graduate of Olean High School class of 1970. He worked at various jobs including WHDL and AVX in Olean, and Paul F. Dorey Construction while he was in Delaware then retiring in 2016 from Subcon Inc as a supervisor, retiring after 30 years in April of 2016. Mike loved to travel, which he did extensively in his younger years. In later years he became a member of the Olean Coasters and the Allegany 60 Plus and continued his love to travel. Mike was a huge NY Yankees and Giants fan. Along with his wife Sharon, Mike is survived by; his sister, Barbara L. (James Joseph) Snyder of Cuba and a niece, Lisa A. Wenke of Black Creek. Mike was predeceased by his parents. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Olean First Baptist Church at 10:00am. The Rev. Millard C. Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
