I was saddened to learn of Aunt Nat's passing. I have many fond memories of time spent with her and Uncle Frank during family visits; Visiting The Camera Center, which they owned and operated, eating beef on weck at Beef and Barrel, the lovely 25th anniversary celebration at The Library, and even freezing in the deep snow for Uncle Frank's 70th birthday celebration in March. (I'm a Floridian)
To me, at the time, they seemed to be an iconic part of a much smaller Olean town. I feel like we have lost another precious piece of history with her passing.
She was faithful to family and friends alike. I have her hand written recipe for pizzelles passed on from Comare Mary and I still make them every Christmas on the old Siclari pizzelle iron.
She loved each kitty she had over the years; their names I can't recall now. Her last kitty was taken in by a close friend who helped her in many ways. To that friend I say "thank you."
Aunt Nat's last years were challenging but she maintained a positive attitude and her sense of humor. More recently she lost her niece Paulette Siclari Lee, and then her sister Alice Marshall.
In addition to her niece and nephew, Stacey and Scott Marshall, she is survived by her nephew Larry Martiny, great-nephew Brandon Martiny, sister-in-law Antoinette (Toni) Siclari Martiny and myself.
