Obituary of Dorothy Jean Kelly

Olean- Dorothy J. Kelly “Loving Mother & Grandmother” Dorothy J. Kelly of The Pines of Olean formerly of 308 School Street passed away on, Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Olean General Hospital. Dorothy was born on October 14, 1931 in Bradford, PA and was the daughter of Cecil and Velma Gulnac Botens. On May 19, 1952 she married the love of her life Alex Kelly who predeceased her on May 2, 2020. Dorothy attended Bradford Area Schools. She worked at Kresge’s for a period of time. Then she worked at Oakleafs then at OTB as a clerk for a number of years. Dorothy was very active at the Christ United Methodist Church. Her faith was very important to her. Dorothy worked hard to provide for her children. Dorothy enjoyed going to the Casino and Tim Hortons with the “Coffee Gang”. Dorothy is survived by; 3 children, Patrick M. (Betsy) Kelly of Cuba, Kathy J. (William) Boyd of Allegany and Thomas J. (JoElenn Andrews) Kelly of Palm Coast, FL; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and a sister Mary Swiger of Perry, OH Along with her loving husband, Alex, Dorothy is predeceased by her parents and 5 sisters, Isabell Fuoco, Lois Romanelli, Ruth Raymond, Shirley Peterson and Barbara Botens and her granddaughter Susan. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 12:00 pm at The Christ United Methodist Church, 633 Linwood Ave, Olean. Pastor Chad Sayers will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
