Olean- Vernon R. “Russ” Hurd Vernon R. “Russ” Hurd of 512 N 7th Street passed away on October 7, 2022, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Russ was born on September 23, 1972, in Gloversville and was the son of Vernon E. Hurd Jr. and Sheila A. Nellis. On August 18, 2001, he married his loving wife, Tracy L. Williams in Gloversville. Russ attended the Gloversville School district. He was an avid Chicago Bears, NY Yankees, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Russ enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching wrestling. Russ is survived by his father, Vernon Hurd Jr., his loving wife, Tracy Hurd, daughter, Kayla Hurd, an “adopted” son Jasper Scibelli, two brothers, Brad and Eric (Sherry) Hurd, one sister, Nikki (Andy) Gieseler, Aunt Fran McWalker, Aunt Roseanne McCloskey, nieces and nephews, Brooke, Nevaeh, Jordan, Alex, Aiden, Belen, Melinda, Shane Jr., Justin, Kirsten, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Emily, Matty, Niko and Amelia, two great nieces and many cousins. Russ was predeceased by his mother, Sheila Nellis Hurd, grandparents, Vernon E. Hurd Sr. and Dorothy A. Hurd, and grandmother, Hilda Fuller. A casual memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 3:00-5:00pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E.
