Bud was truly unique. I first met he and Marian many years back when they lived on Cuba Lake, bud wanted his laundry room remodeled and somehow got my name, it was fate.
We spent many hours talking about guns, hunting, the military, and a plethora of other subjects, we also made a lot of deals horse trading back and forth, a little give and a little take but always satisfying.
I can still hear his voice, "hey Jeff", he always started off with.
I spent a considerable amount of time with them both, along with my children which was always a well enjoyed experience, except my youngest was a bit taken aback by their "hairless" schnauzer (sweet puppy but definitely a unique experience petting a dog that was just skin!).
I love the picture, that is Bud all over, always with the pipes.
I always felt so comfortable around Bud, he was born the same year as my father, and my step father, both of whom were WWII vets, my dad was Navy, my step dad was there at D-Day when Bud was but had to swim to the beach from the landing craft while But came in on the breeze as it were, great men all from the greatest generation!
Health and life in general made it so I have not seen Bud in a few years, but I know where he is, and I know the joy he has found, see you on the other side of the vail Bud.

To a great man who served in WWII, loved his country, never asked or looked for a handout, worked hard, provided for his family and truly loved life. An incredible neighbor, best friend and was considered family to us. He spent his birthdays, family gatherings and every holiday with us amongst that occasional stop for coffee or to just see what was going on for the day. The knowledge and wisdom this man had at the age of 96 was truly remarkable. He taught us more about life than one could ever imagine. We were always learning something. The conversation was always interesting and in some instances cringe worthy. He had a great sense of humor, was kind, respectful, thoughtful, considerate and honest, everything a true friend is. He was a gentle soul. There were days we'd laugh and days we'd cry together. There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't have contact. It was either a stop at the house, talk on the phone, taking him to appts, going out to eat, going for a random drive, taking him out in his pj's for ice cream, going on an overnight trip or the guys going over and spending quality time during the week in his man cave. He loved a gathering. Our hearts break with sadness and joy. The sadness is the loss we've endured with him passing, missing him, not hearing or talking with him. The joy is of being honoured to be such an intrical part of his everyday life, knowing and spending the quality time with him, loving and respecting him for what he did for us and our country, caring for him knowing the true appreciation he had, knowing he could count on us for anything, knowing he is finally at peace and he did it his way, being at home. Bud Boorom you will always have a seat at our table, be remembered, loved and not forgotten. Your time has come to rest easy.
