Obituary of Bernadine R. Gaspar

Olean- Bernadine R. Gaspar Bernadine R. Gaspar of 203 N. 24th Street, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Olean General Hospital. Bernie was born October 7, 1928, in Eldred, PA and was the daughter of Peter and Minnie Geuder Hennigan. On May 23, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church she married the love of her life Richard Gaspar who predeceased her May 3, 2011. Bernie was a graduate of Eldred High School. She worked at the First National Bank of Eldred retiring after 42 years. Bernie was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ruth Guild. Bernie enjoyed bowling for many years playing in several leagues. She played cards with her friends, she was a fan of St. Bonaventure and the Buffalo Bills. Bernie will be remembered as an amazing, kind, and gracious woman who “never had a bad word for anyone or anything”. Bernie is survived by; a son, Robert P. (Maureen) Gaspar of Barkhamsted, CT; 2 grandchildren, Caitlin E. Gaspar of New York, NY, and Dylan P. Gaspar of Olean; 2 care takers and friends, Lynda Wolfe and Karen Hull both of Olean and several nieces and nephews Along with her loving husband, Bernie was predeceased by her parents and 3 siblings, Jeanette Brandes, Agnes Loop and Dorotha Jean Sullivan. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at which time a funeral service will be held. Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery.
