Allegany- George Henry Seamon “Loving Husband & Father”
George Henry Seamon, Jr. of 724 Four Mile Road, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at his home.
George was born March 18, 1946, in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was the son of George Henry and Helen V. Mack Seamon, Sr. On April 4, 1992 in Olean he married the love of his life Lisa J. Anderson who survives.
George graduated from high school in Marietta, Georgia in 1963. He continued his education at Northwestern University and got his bachelors degree of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering in 1967. From 1967 to 1975 he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co., later moving to the Olean area in 1977. He worked at Dresser Clark, rising to the level of Principal Design Engineer before retiring from Siemens in 2017.
George was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels Church where he was an Usher and attended Bethany Lutheran Church with his family. George enjoyed playing basketball, softball, volleyball, golf and card games. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, NASCAR, Northwestern University football, and the Atlanta Braves baseball.
Along with his loving wife of 30 years, George is survived by 2 children, Jeffrey D. Seamon of Cheektowaga and Anna M. Seamon of Allegany; 3 siblings, Robert (Pamela) Seamon, Patricia (Jack) Phillips and Hank (Diane) Seamon and brother-in-law, Gary Bartle.
George was predeceased by his parents and sister, Jeanne Bartle.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 6 Leo Moss Dr, Olean, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Kim Rossi, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
