Hinsdale- Norman B. Case Norman B Case 92 a lifelong resident of Hinsdale passed away on January 28th 2022 at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born August 2, 1929 in Olean, New York. He was the son of A. D. and Margaret (Willover) Case. He was married to Barbara Threehouse October 10, 1953 until her passing away on July 6, 2003. They enjoyed nearly 50 years together. After graduating from Hinsdale Central School, Norman served in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic in Europe during the Korean War era. Norm was employed and retired after 37 years from the Dexter - Hy-Sol Corporation in Olean and served as the department head in the shipping and receiving department. Norm was a dedicated servant during his lifetime. He gave so much time for his family and community. A life time member of the Maplehurst Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Hinsdale Central School Board of Education for many years and served as President as well. He was President at the time his daughter Deborah graduated and signed her diploma He served as a member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department and as Chief. Also member of the American Legion Norton Chambers Post 1434 and as Post Commander. Was a member of the Free Masons Olean Masonic Temple Enchanted Mountains Lodge #252,F&AM and on the Board of Directors of the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. After All the above Norm found time to play Golf with his friends . He was a very avid Golfer. He knew so many people that everywhere he went there was somebody that knew him. He received a Special Proclamation Award from NY Senator Catharine Young for 60 years of service to the Hinsdale Maplehurst and Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Norm took great pride in his home inside and out, he was known for his great looking lawn and Giant Catalpa Tree. He loved animals and spent a great deal of time with his daughter Debbie showing horses and dogs. He was a member of the Olean Kennel Club and served on different committees. By showing 2 pugs that he owned Zelda and Murray they became AKC Champions. Left to cherishes memories is his daughter Deborah (Case) Mohr, Granddaughter Carla (Dr. Gavin) Buxton, daughter-in-law Paula Copenhaver, Grandsons Anthony & David Copenhaver Jr., 5 Great Grandchildren & several nieces and nephews and personal friend Rosabell (Bishop) Hamilton. In addition to his wife Barbara, he was also predeceased by a son David Copenhaver, 2 brothers Daniel and W. Rodney Case, and a niece Michelle Case, also 2 nephews Brian Kenyon & David Threehouse and Grand Niece Katherine Gallets, he dearly loved them all. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Tuesday, February 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev Monroe Bishop will officiate. Graveside service to be announced.
